Welcome to Servants of All Ministry

June 18th, 2010

Just a quick update of a very busy and victorious summer at SOAM –

Glenn has been in Haiti for most of the month of June.

Haiti is still in quite a disconcerting state. We are grateful that God has sent us so much great help during this very difficult time. Grace church from DeRidder, Louisiana was able to send a beautiful metal building from the United States for a dining patio and kitchen. SOAM has never had a place big enough for all the kids to eat together like a family. It has been a prayer of ours for a long time to see this happen! The children used to get their plates from the kitchen and just sit on the ground or wherever was available on the grounds. Now we will also have a clean and sanitary kitchen and we will not have to cook with charcoal very soon. God sent these sweet folks who gave of their time, talents and money to provide this much needed addition to our campus. But it almost didn’t happen because customs wouldn’t release the metal building to us until the day before the building crew was supposed to leave. The building didn’t arrive at SOAM until 5pm Friday and the crew was scheduled to leave Haiti Saturday at noon but Glenn said he’s never seen anything like it they worked like machines and erected the whole building before they had to leave! Praise the Lord. (I promise to post some pictures as soon as he gets home with them)

The Go Global member churches through the leadership of Healing Place Church here in Baton Rouge are sending 4 teams this summer to help us rebuild our much needed wall around the campus and minister to our kids. The foundation for the entire wall around our campus is nearly complete and the crews have started to construction the fence. Each crew will do as much as we have the time and money to complete – we are hoping that it is done by the end of the summer! Glenn has been particularly blessed by the children’s ministry that the groups have brought. He said the children look forward to it and it has been a very sweet time for them.

Daniel Trahan, Venol Mercier and Claudy Jean Pierre, our Haitian students, at Texas Bible Institute graduated in May 2010. The Institute speaks very highly of our graduates, their heart for God and hard work ethic. We are so proud of them. They have all applied for the TPS (temporary protective status) being offered to Haitians here since the earthquake. This will allow them to live and work here for 18 months. I know God’s going to use these guys in a mighty way for His Kingdom.

Luxone (Capitan) Mercier is living in Canada now with his wife Ruth. They are expecting their first child in September 2010 (It’s a girl!!!!) Capitan passed his RN exam in Canada and is now looking for a job there. I couldn’t be happier for him.

Colbert Courteous got married on May 29th to his fiancée’ Gerta near Miami, FL. They will be residing in Connecticut and he will soon be approved for TPS and working.

We are looking forward to being at the Down to Earth Flowers and Fireworks day in Cadott, Wisconsin on June 26th and visiting our incredible Servants of All family there! Visit http://www.dwntoearth.com/newsletters/Summer2010.pdf for more information about this fun event and fund raiser.

Please continue to pray for Servants of All … Glenn has a great burden to improve our education system. After spending so much time there this summer he’s noticed that our high school children (which we send to a private school in town) only go for an hour or two a day. Most of them are so far behind already that we feel they need extra time in school but instead they aren’t even going close to a full day. So we ask for your continued prayers as we’d like to open our own High school there to benefit the kids.

It’s so awesome to be in ministry with you all! We know what breaks God heart is breaking your heart too – thanks for not being a by-stander and ambushing the enemy with us in Haiti! God bless you for your prayers and faithfulness to Servants of All ~ Wendy

Welcome
The Lord is doing incredible work here in Haiti and we are excited to be a part of it! Servants of All, Inc., est. in 1980 by Rev. Dula Trahan, is a “Spirit-filled” mission that is committed to raising up men and women who will reach their country and the world for Jesus Christ.

Presently, at our main complex in Grande Goave Haiti we are providing life's necessities for over 85 orphans. And with the help of our sponsors many are going to school in Grande Goave besides receiving the basic instruction that we are able to offer!

Supplying for the physical and educational needs of our kids is just the start however. SOAM is just as concerned about their spiritual needs as well. We emphasize a commitment to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ while being empowered by the Holy Spirit to advance the Kingdom of God through evangelism.

Servants of All Ministry's reach begins with faithfulness to holiness and purity, morning worship, daily prayer, evening worship, and Christian education. To date we have seen many of our children grow up into evangelists and local pastors. Further, SOAM oversees eight local churches and pastors who are making an impact for Christ here in Haiti.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our site. Please consider what the Lord may have you do as a partner with SOAM. Besides meeting the daily needs of our orphans we have many goals for the future that we would like you to be part of as the Lord leads.

Finally, our doors are open to those interested. Should you wish to visit with us, arrangements can be made on a personal basis—we are constantly hosting groups and individuals who are willing to come and lend a hand. May Jesus bless you as we ask for your prayers and support.

Haiti's Economy - We need your help!

  • About 80% of the population lives in abject poverty. Nearly 70% of all Haitians depend on the agriculture sector, which consists mainly of small-scale subsistence farming and employs about two-thirds of the economically active work force. Following legislative elections in May 2000, fraught with irregularities, international donors - including the US and EU - suspended almost all aid to Haiti. The economy shrank an estimated 1.2% in 2001 and an estimated 0.9% in 2002. The contraction will likely intensify unless a political agreement with donors is reached on economic policy. Suspended aid and loan disbursements totaled more than $500 million at the start of 2003. read more
